How to Cancel a Scheduled Post on Instagram

If you scheduled the post using Instagram's native scheduling feature on a professional account, open the Instagram app, go to your profile, and tap the menu or settings area to find your scheduled content. The exact path may vary slightly between app versions, but you are looking for a scheduled posts or content calendar section.

Once you find the scheduled post, tap on it to open the details. You should see an option to delete the scheduled post or edit it. Deleting removes it from the queue entirely. Editing lets you change the caption, time, or media before it publishes.

If you cannot find a scheduled posts section in the app, the post may have been scheduled through Meta Business Suite instead, which stores scheduled content separately.

If you scheduled the post through Meta Business Suite — which is common for professional and business accounts — open Business Suite on desktop or mobile. Navigate to the Content or Planner section and find the scheduled post.

From there you can delete the post, move it to drafts, or reschedule it for a different time. Business Suite gives you more control over the scheduled queue than the Instagram app alone, including the ability to see all scheduled content across Instagram and Facebook in one view.

If you scheduled the post through a third-party tool like EziBreezy, the cancellation happens inside that tool, not inside Instagram. Open the scheduler, find the post in the queue or calendar view, and delete it or move it back to drafts.

Third-party schedulers typically hold the post on their side until the scheduled time, then publish it through the Instagram API. That means canceling the post in the scheduler before the publish time will prevent it from going live. Once the post has already been published, you would need to delete it directly from Instagram.

Most schedulers also let you reschedule instead of canceling outright, which is useful if the content is fine but the timing needs to change.
